Bob Westmoreland - Class of 1944

Bob was born in Ponca City, OK on September 7, 1926 to Benjamin and Velma Westmoreland. Bob attended Lincoln Elementary School, East Junior High School, and Ponca City High School, graduating in 1944. He then attended Oklahoma State University. His wife is Wanda Westmoreland, and his two sons are Donald Westmoreland and Jeffrey Stevenson.

Westmoreland’s career experiences include professional musician, professional photographer, television producer, audio/visual producer, author, teacher, and consultant. He attended Oklahoma State University prior to entering the US Navy during WWII. At the age of 18, he was the youngest member of the “Meet Your Navy” orchestra broadcasting from Great Lakes Naval Training Station to a worldwide audience.

Following WWII, he entered the professional music field and appeared in entertainment centers from New York to Hollywood. He returned to Ponca City and started a new career as a music teacher and professional photographer. He was hired by Conoco as an industrial photographer. He was later hired as the Audio/Visual director for Ponca City Public Schools. Westmoreland was responsible for the design and installation of “Studio See,” the educational television facility located at the Board of Education in Ponca City. He produced more than 2000 instructional videos covering subjects as varied as science, art, music, math, nutrition, language arts, physical education, psychology, and teacher education. His book, Television Production Shortcuts was published by OU press and was used as a textbook across the United States and in Europe.

Bob was awarded the Master of Photography Degree by the Professional Photographers of America, an internationally recognized achievement in the field, and a degree that provided the credentials to start work under his company name “PhotoGRAPHICS by Bob Westmoreland.” Bob was awarded an honorary lifetime membership by the Professional Photographers of Oklahoma, and was one of the first of 15 photographers in Oklahoma to be certified as a Professional Photographer.
Through a grant from the Oklahoma Bi-Centennial Commission, he produced and directed Bride of the Morning Star, an award-winning film based on Skedee Pawnee Indian history. A grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities gave Westmoreland the opportunity to assemble an audio/visual history of his home town of Ponca City, OK.

Bob was a charter member of the E. W. Marland Commission. He edited and illustrated The Marland Mansion-A Photographic Study, a book which is included in the Bicentennial Time Capsule at the Oklahoma State Capitol.

Westmoreland served as President of the Ponca City Art Association for seven terms, and his photography classes for adults were featured for twelve years. For more than 20 years, Bob served as a woodwind specialist, tutoring students for the Ponca City and Blackwell schools. He has presented at conventions on the state, regional, and national levels for organizations such as the Professional Photographers of America, the Photographic Society of America, the American School Food Service Association, the Mid-America Cable Antenna Association, and the Oklahoma School of Public Relations. He served as a consultant for companies such as Conoco Inc., Smith International Inc., Farm Fresh Inc., and Mertz, Inc. Governmental clients included Oklahoma State Department of Education, the Marland Mansion and Estate, Holland Hall School in Tulsa, Ok, and the Humble, TX Public School District.

John Yeaman - Class of 1958

John M. Yeaman was born in Ponca City, OK to Don and Hazel Yeaman on October 30, 1940. He has four brothers: Richard, Bob, Jerry, and Jim. John attended Jefferson Elementary School, Ponca City Junior High School, and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1958.

In high school, John was co-captain of the wrestling team and deciding to forgo an interview for a wrestling scholarship at the Air Force Academy, Yeaman joined his brothers at Oklahoma State University. He graduated from OSU in 1963.

After college, he served a few months on active duty with the US Air Force and then spent six years in the Air Force Reserves. Yeaman started his career at Kodak in Dallas, TX where he worked for eight years.

A few years later, he and a partner created a computer output microfilm company. They sold the business four years later, and Yeaman then joined Electronic Data Systems (EDS) where he stayed for several years before moving to a career in commercial real estate. In that capacity he worked with many leaders in EDS and eventually was asked to represent that company exclusively, which he did for 20 years.

His partner from his computer output microfilm company asked Yeaman to join Tyler Technologies after he sold his company to them.

Yeaman quickly became CEO and President of the company. He served in that capacity for almost 10 years before becoming the Chairman of the Board, a position he held until he retired in June of 2022. He also served as a Director at Park Cities Bank during that time.

Mr. Yeaman received the prestigious recognition as Oklahoma State University’s 100 in 100. He has been active in many community endeavors. He has served on many boards including the OSU North Texas Alumni Board, the Baylor Scott and White Foundation Board, the Cotton Bowl Board, and the Salesmanship Club Board.

John married his high school sweetheart Karen (Rider) Yeaman, who tragically passed away in a car accident in 2002. Their children are Leslie, Mark, and Matt. He remarried in 2007. His wife Kathy has three children: Jessica, Emily, and Katherine. He has sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

John Yeaman is a proud father, grandfather, and OSU alumni and fan. He enjoys spending time on his ranch, supporting the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, listening to good country music, and enjoying time with his family.

David Kinkaid - Class of 1963

David Roy Kinkaid was born in Bowie, Texas on August 18, 1945 to Ray and Jean Kinkaid. He had one brother, Dennis Kinkaid. David attended Jefferson grade school, East Junior High, and Ponca City High School where he graduated thirteenth in his class in 1963. While in high school, he was a five-sport letterman. David passed away December 30, 2020.

David attended Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1967 with a degree in Animal Sciences. While attending OSU, David was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity serving as president in 1965-1966. In 1970, David earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University. He returned to Ponca City and opened Kinkaid Veterinary Hospital where he was a well- loved and trusted veterinarian for over 50 years. David always put animals first and would answer emergency calls at any time of the day or night. Many animals have been saved by his dedication.

David was a community-minded man and gave many hours of service to his community serving on the Ponca City School Board of Education for many years. He was Board president at the time of his death. He also served on the YMCA Board in the1970’s. Additionally, he established the adult softball league and the adult soccer league in Ponca City. Kinkaid also served as Director of Ponca City Youth Tackle Football League. David loved wrestling and was named Oklahoma High School Coaches Outstanding Referee twice and also refereed at the collegiate level. In 2000, Kinkaid was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Family was the most important part of David’s life. David’s family includes wife Vickie Kinkaid, children Brett Kinkaid and wife Abbie, Kelli Kinkaid Fogle and husband Allan, Darbi Kinkaid Alstrom and husband Tuff, Luke Kinkaid, Landon Kinkaid and wife Heather, Cody Sensintaffer and wife Heather, Caleb Sensintaffer and wife Grace, and Craig Backus. He also had a good relationship with the wife of his children Brett, Kellie, and Daribi, Cheryl Colwell Kinkaid.
His grandchildren were the light of his life. They are Landrie Kinkaid, Carter Backus, Isaac Sensintaffer, Addison Kinkaid, Griffin Sensintaffer, Jack Kinkaid, Nolan Sensintaffer, Paige Sensintaffer, Finley Kinkaid, Cade Sensintaffer, Bower Alstrom, Kinkaid Alstrom, Easton Kinkaid, Truitt Sensintaffer, Monroe Kinkaid, and Charlotte Kinkaid.

David Kinkaid was devoted to the youth of Ponca City and had an enormous impact on hundreds of lives as a result of his unwavering belief in all children. David was an advocate for education. He always believed in Ponca City Public Schools and in the potential for its staff and children.

Kennis (Ken) Bellmard - Class of 1976

Kennis (Ken) Bellmard II was born on June 6, 1958 in Ponca City, OK to Kennis M. Bellmard, Sr. and Lily C. (Trujillo) Bellmard. Ken attended Liberty grade school and West Junior High School. He earned an Eagle Scout Boy Scout award in 1974. He is a 1976 graduate of Po-Hi where he placed three time at the state wrestling tournament.
His senior year, 1976, he had an undefeated season (25-0) and won the State Championship. Ken was selected to the Oklahoma All-State Wrestling team and was a USWF Junior National All-American. In 1975, Ken competed in Bulgaria and in Japan in 1976 as a member of the Oklahoma AAU Wrestling Team.

Bellmard was an NCAA Division II runner-up in 1977 for Augustana College in South Dakota. He was a member of the Northern Oklahoma College wrestling team in 1978 and was a letterman for the Oklahoma State University wrestling team in 1980 and 1981. Prior to entering law school, Ken was a Jr. High wrestling coach in Ponca City where he coached a state championship team. He was a high school wrestling coach for Newkirk, OK
where he coached a state runner-up team.
Mr. Bellmard received his Associate of Arts degree from Northern Oklahoma College (1978), a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Education from Oklahoma State University (1981), and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law (1989). While in school, Ken served as Editor-In-Chief (1988-1989) of the American Indian Law Review. He was a delegate to the 34 th National Conference of Law Reviews in 1988. Mr. Bellmard received American Jurisprudence Awards for Conflict of Laws, and the American Indian Law Review in the
Spring of 1989.

Bellmard is a member of the Kaw Nation and has been a member of the Kaw Nation’s cultural committee and was drum keeper for the Kaw I-Lon-Shka ceremonial dances. Since 1990, he has been a practitioner of Native American Law. He has served as Chair of the Indian Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association and has been named one of the Best Law Firms for Native American Law in Oklahoma by US News and World Report. Bellmard has been on the forefront of the Oklahoma Indian gaming development and economic development on Indian Land. As of 2025, he is serving as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and Economic Development in the Office of Indian Affairs in the United States Department of Interior in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Bellmard served as a member of the Board of Directors of USA Judo and attended the Beijing and London Olympics as an administrator for the USA Judo delegation. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, OK.
Mr. Bellmard is a member of the Ponca City Wrestling Hall of Fame, and he is a recipient of a Distinguished Alumni Award from Northern Oklahoma College. Ken is married to Debra D. (Clegg) Bellmard. He has two sons, Joshua Paul Bellmard and Dylan Tamerlane Bellmard.

Russell Maples - Class of 1981

Russell is the son of former longtime Ponca City residents Billy and Ludie Maples. He attended Ponca City schools and was a 1981 PO-HI graduate. Maples is also a 1986 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Political Science. He and his wife Kay have a son Evan who is graduate student at Washington University, St. Louis.

Upon graduation from OU, Maples joined the Ponca City Police department as a Patrolman. In March of 1988 He was accepted into the 43rd Oklahoma Highway Patrol academy. His duty assignments included: Troop G Lawton, Chickasha detachment, Troop A Metro, Oklahoma City detachment, Troop A Rural, Logan County detachment and Troop R Executive Security, Governor, and Lieutenant Governor’s security details.

In April of 1995, He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant field supervisor and assigned to Troop H Clinton supervising Roger Mills, Beckham, Washita, and Dewey County troopers. Maples transferred back to Troop A where he supervised personnel working in both Metro and Rural counties. While at Troop A, He was also a Field Training supervisor, Team Leader of the Advanced Accident Investigation team “Technical Squad,” and assistant team leader of the Troop Emergency Response team. He was also temporarily assigned to the Training division as Assistant Commandant for the 50th and 51st Patrol Academies.

In 2001 Maples transferred to Troop SO “Special Operations” as a supervisor in the criminal interdiction unit. In 2005 Maples was promoted to Captain and assigned to Troop A as the Executive Officer. Six months later Maples assumed command of Troop A as the Troop Commander. In 2007 he transferred to Troop SO again as Troop Commander where he oversaw the Criminal Interdiction units, Police service dog program, department evidence facility and Asset Forfeiture division.

In 2008 Maples was promoted to the rank of Major as Zone Commander. And in 2015 he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel “Deputy Chief” Region 1 Commander. In 2017 he was acting Chief of the Patrol for a period.

Maples was a member of the International Chiefs of Police, Central Oklahoma Chiefs of Police association, Oklahoma State Troopers Association, Central States Troopers Association, and a graduate of the 244th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia.

Maples retired from the Patrol in 2022 with 34 years of service with the State of Oklahoma.
